Coop Firenze Shopping Center

Town of Sesto Fiorentino

2003 - 2013

This building project, from plans drafted by Chapman and Taylor and managed by SINTER, was implemented as part of the adaptive-reuse plan for the area formerly occupied by the warehouse units of Unicoop-Firenze.

The new shopping center, one of the first built in the Province of Florence, was designed on two levels to provide for approximately 42,500m2 of useable surface and some 20,000m2 of sales area. A street-level gallery houses the entrances to large and mid-sized retail stores, and ample parking is provided by an outside lot and a basement-level garage.

The building is constructed in prefabricated cement and steel, and external facings are an uninterrupted series of glass or prefabricated panels in sheet metal or masonry.
